Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is epoxy flooring?

Epoxy flooring is a robust surface finish created by mixing a resin with a hardener. This chemical reaction produces a seamless, glossy floor that is exceptionally tough and built to last. At Atlas Epoxy Systems we work with polyaspartic, 100% solids epoxy, urethane and polyurethane coatings to deliver high‑quality results.

How does your installation process work?

Our installation begins by grinding the concrete to create a proper profile for adhesion. We then deep‑clean the surface, mask off protected areas, and apply a commercial‑grade base coat. Color flakes are broadcast into the base coat to achieve your desired look, and finally a clear top coat seals the floor, leaving a durable, waterproof and easy‑to‑clean finish.

Which epoxy flooring services do you offer?

We install epoxy flooring for both residential and commercial applications. Our expertise includes garage floors, patios, commercial shops and sports courts, as well as grind‑and‑seal finishing services and more.

Why choose an epoxy floor?

An epoxy floor provides a seamless surface that stands up to heavy traffic, impacts and spills. It’s stain‑resistant, waterproof and easy to maintain, making it ideal for garages, basements, shops and industrial spaces. With a wide range of colours and flakes to choose from, you can customize the look to match your style while gaining a durable and long‑lasting floor.

What sets your epoxy floors apart?

We pride ourselves on professional preparation, using industrial‑strength equipment and materials. Our crew is highly trained and experienced, and we never cut corners. Doing it right the first go means that you'll never have to worry about a poorly installed floor. With us you receive a custom floor designed to last.

Which areas do you service?

We serve homeowners and businesses throughout the Denver metro area and surrounding communities. Our service areas include Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada, Westminster, Thornton, Centennial, Littleton, Englewood, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, Broomfield, and Golden. We also serve Fort Collins and Colorado Springs and their surrounding areas. If you’re just outside these areas, feel free to contact us to discuss your project.

Do you work beyond garages?

Absolutely. We coat everything from patios and decks to basements, workshops, barns and warehouses. Our team also handles sports courts, home gyms, man caves, aircraft hangars, restaurants, showrooms, venues and other commercial or industrial spaces.

Are your floors waterproof?

Yes. Our epoxy systems form a watertight seal that prevents moisture from seeping beneath the coating, protecting your concrete from damage.

Can you coat wood stairs and baseboards?

Yes. We prep and coat wood stair treads, risers and baseboards so that they blend seamlessly with the rest of your epoxy flooring.

Do you apply epoxy over existing coatings?

No. We remove any existing coatings using industrial‑grade grinders and profile the concrete to ensure the new epoxy adheres properly and lasts for years.

Will cracks still show after installation?

No. Part of our preparation process involves repairing and mitigating cracks. Once the floor is installed, those imperfections are no longer visible.

Do court lines peel or wear off?

No. The lines on our sports court epoxy floors are integrated into the coating, forming a chemical bond that won’t peel or wear away even with heavy foot or vehicle traffic.

Can you fix a failing epoxy floor?

Yes. If your existing epoxy floor is peeling, staining or cracked, we can remove the failing coating and install a new custom epoxy floor that’s built to endure.

How long does installation take?

Most projects take between three and four days from start to finish. This allows adequate time for surface preparation, multiple coats and proper curing.

How far in advance should I book my project?

Our schedule fills up quickly, so we recommend reaching out a few weeks in advance to secure your preferred dates. Feel free to contact us for current availability.

What does your lifetime warranty cover?

We stand behind our work with a lifetime warranty. If your floor ever develops an issue—whether from normal use or accidental damage—just contact us and we’ll make it right. Because we use high‑quality materials and proven processes, repairs are rarely needed.
